RETROGRADE
WHOLE HOME REMODEL AND FURNISHINGS
Our personal home was a special project, to say the least.
When my wife, Jamie, and I walked in the front door of the 1958 mid-century ranch, the two of us had very different reactions. I saw a home that had given decades years of life to multiple generations, in need of a major overhaul with incredible potential. Jamie saw the warped floors, uneven doors, stained walls, drafty windows, etc. etc.
We chose to honor this piece of history, sold through the previous homeowner’s estate, destined to be torn down for a future new construction.
Leaning into a ‘modern mid-century modern’ design direction, the color palette was deeply rooted in nature with rich mushroom taupes, deep greens and charcoal tones contrasting clear walnut woods and black doors + trim throughout.
Featuring natural stone countertops from Calia Stone Boutique, custom cabinetry from Trim Tech, plumbing from Brizo Faucets, tile from Ann Sacks, Zia tile + Fireclay, closets by Inspired Closets, with artwork by Len Upin, Lisa Goesling, Stella Zee, Dolan Geiman, Rob France & Sam Symborski.
