Whiskey River

The Space: Southwest midcentury modern multi-room furnishings

Type: Residential Interior

Taking influence from the client’s roots in Santa Fe, we developed a design direction heavily influenced by southwest motifs. Applying that to the home’s existing mid century architecture, the color and material palette centered around terracottas, dusty blues, sandy hues and natural woods.

In the living room, a walnut built-in with a custom door design is backed by oak tongue + groove paneling, accented by a darkened terracotta fireplace tile. A custom Verellen sofa, loud upholstered swivel chairs and a hand made chaise brings character with bold finishes, complimented by Aztek inspired rugs.

The elevated dining and sitting area features locally sourced vintage pieces including the dining table and two western side chairs, framed by a breezeblock half wall, giving visibility to the living room beyond.
