When our client came to us asking for a complete overhaul of his 900 sq ft two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo, we rewrote the playbook. With a deep passion for the performing arts – opera, theater, symphony, ballet – he wanted to live in a beautiful space, prioritizing livability and entertainment over resale.
The layout was completely redrawn, eliminating a dark guest bedroom and replacing it with a dining nook perfect for hosting dinner parties and working from home.
Throughout the home, classic prep details are reinterpreted: reeded glass as pinstripes, mosaic tile as plaid – all within a palette of oxblood, buttercream, and cool slate. A confident mix of old and new, tradition and modernity, infused with personality and cultural appreciation. A richly layered take on traditional collegiate style: polished, cultured, and masculine. Think Oxford fall meets Boston library meets vintage menswear.
Custom cabinetry by Heidkamp Design Co, outfitted to hold his collection of vintage wine, books, and memorabilia. A custom banquette by Romann Custom Upholstery, a custom table by Mahar Fabrication, tile from The Fine Line, Ann Sacks, and Virginia Tile, and lighting by Visual Comfort outfit this well-curated space.
